This is my only major problem left with GB/PV.

One of the paths in my Video library is a network drive. The path works inside GB if the PC with the physical drive was running when the GB PC starts - but it will not connect to it if the host PC starts after the GB PC, unless I manually double-click the drive in Explorer to restore the connection.

Is there a way for GB to ask the OS to reconnect the path (if needed) every time it is accessed?
GBPVR System:
XP Pro SP2, AMD XP1800+, 512MB DDR, NVidia 6200 AGP (1.90.62 drivers), PVR-150 (2.0.43.24108 drivers), nVidia Purevideo Mpeg2 codec, PVRX2 1.4.7

Do absolute paths work if the host machine has been rebooted? Which means:
Code:
\\computer-name\foldername\Videos

I believe this will only work with unprotected shares.

This is how I have mine setup, but I've never checked if it still works when the host PC has been rebooted.

That should also work if both machines use a user account of the same name, with the same password.

And make sure your gbpvr recording service is set to use that same account -not local system

or you can use a startup .bat file in startup group in start menu..
i make one to run inside pvrx2 to re-enable my shares for mvp use..
just add a
net use e: \\remotemachine\e /persistent:yes
adjust stuff in bold to your stuff..

if you need name and pw:
net use e: \\pvr\e password /user:username /persistent:yes

works great as a custom cmd in gbpvr and pvrx2 with new release..Big Grin

add a shortcut to .bat file in startup and you're all set...startup usually runs last so usually will work..but also can run when you need it anytime..Smile

Thanks guys, I think the direct (rather than mapped) path may be all I need.
