Setup Help.

I am wanting to setup GBPVR to do some basic timed recording. All I am looking for it to do is to change the channel of the FTA box I have and start recording at the time set by the timer. I am wanting to set the timers so they will run weekly at the same time. is this possible? I dont have high speed so an epg is kind of out of the question Also can anyone suggest a good USB UIRT?

you can get the epg data on dial up im sure the files i download for my epg are only 400kb only 5 stations though once a week
you can do manual recordings and set the time and channel to what ever you want and how long you want
so yes you can do this without any epg but you still need the stations channels setup
install it then have a play if you have any questions or get stuck just ask
also read the wiki link at top of forum

Thanks for the reply . Is there a way to control a device that is not on any of the list with the IR blastier included in with the wintv 150 card? I have the hex codes for the remote .

i havent done this myself but if you follow the directions on the wiki it tells you what to do

Yes, there is an option for manual recurring recordings

As sustunz said, it *is* possible to download epg over dial up. Another option would be to download the xmltv file at work or in school like one a week, and bring it home on an usb stick. I did that for a while when I had no internet access at home after moving.

usb-uirt is a trademark - hence there is only one

If that's the PVR150 and uses the blastcfg program, then I don't think there is any way to change it yourself. I did see later versions of the driver with a "sniff" option in blastcfg, but I think it was inoperative. You just have to keep emailing Hauppauge support and they will get round to adding new ones eventually.
