Hi,

I know the title sounds weired, but it is actually an accurate description of the problem. I'm using pvrx2 on a 150MCE. Generally, everything works fine: recorded TV working good.
But after a couple of days (my machine is on 24x7), recordings don't have any audio any longer. Also, live tv doesn't have sound anymore. When I restart the computer, it fixes the problem, meaning that live tv has sound again and new recordings have sound, too.

I should mention that when sound doesn't work in gbpvr anymore, it still works in other other applications. It seems to be related to either gbpvr, the tv card or a combination of both.
I also don't think that the audio decoder is the problem. I'm using the cyberlink decoder and that works with other applications, while recordings and live tv in gbpvr has the problem.

I'm really struggling to get to the source of the problem. What could cause this strange behaviour? Any pointers?

Thanks,
Frank.

If you play one of those recordings in another application, does it have sound?

I just had a similar thing last Sunday. Two ATSC tuners, and I set them to record all the evening Fox shows separately. One tuner did 7 to 7:30, the other did 7:30 to 8, etc. King of the Hill is the only show out of five or so that night that the video plays fine but no audio. I just tried it in VLC player with no change, and it only shows one audio track. MediaInfo says there is indeed an audio track.

EVERY week I've recorded the Kelsey Grammer "comedy" Back to You, (a show not good enough to bother recording with a VCR, but I will with a PVR Smile), the only way I can hear the audio is by switching to track 2 and making sure it's set to play in stereo. I use VLC for that since it's easy to switch between audio tracks and 5.1/stereo, etc. The strange part, of course, is that GBPVR is only supposed to record one audio track, so something, maybe the muxer(?), is screwing up the audio.

I don't know what it is, but Back to You is the only show that I don't think the audio has EVER recorded/muxed/whatever/dunno properly. I even posted about the problem on a local HDTV forum to see if anyone else had similar, but no one else had the problem.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

No, unfortunately it doesn't.

The PVR150 is reknowned for funny audio problems like this. It might worth trying to upgrade the PVR150 drivers if you're not running the most recent ones.
