I have a PVR 250, with problems with Live TV. I receive audio, but no video. I have all the Playback defaults for 238
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

Do you have an MPEG2 decoder installed on you machine? If not, you get the symptoms you describe.

Another possibility is that GB-PVR doesnt like your system default MPEG2 decoder, try selecting another on the Playback tab of the Config app.

This is probably a stupid question, but how can I tell?

I have fresh system with WinTV PVR 250 installed, and 238.

Did you install the Hauppauge? If so, and WinTV2000 works, then this means an MPEG2 decoder is installed.

Alternatively, you should have other decoders than "System Default" listed as MPEG2 decoder options in the config app.

Yes sir, I installed all of that jazz. WinTv 2000 works fine..

I've tried multiple settings in Playback tab, and haven't found anything that works.

What decoder options do you have listed in the "video decoder" setting on the playback tab of the config app?

Basically all the defaults currently.. I have tried a lot of combinations.

Hardware decoder: none, use software decoder

Software MPEG-2 Playback:
Video: System Default
Audio: System Default
Audio Renderer: System Default

VMR 9 is checked, all opther circles & boxes unchecked.

I have two options under MPEG-2 Playback, including
MainConcept (Hauppauge) MPEG for Video and Audio. I have tried these, seeming the most logical. Tried various options under Audio Renderer.

Perhaps I should tried previous version of GBPVR?

thanks,

I did a fresh build of Win XP Pro. Applied SP1a and full crits.

Installed hardware & cd. I'm using Hauppauge WinTV-PVR PCI II (Encoder 16) driver dated 6/16/2004 ver. 1.18.1.22168

Everything works fine in WinTV 2000... it rocks... including pause live tv etc etc.

I can launch GBPVR however, and it works correctly too. Except for live TV. I get audio, no video. I have stopped Hauppauge services also.

I used the GB-PVR Tuning Assistant. It seems not to be working. It signals that is is finding channels while it displays nothing but garbage. Perhaps this is what you were talking about?

I have reinstalled the program 2 or 3 times, without luck.

I will run the Tuning Assistant fully through perhaps something will arise at the end.

thanks for tips,

Gav

Hey Folks,

I'm having some similar problems that you folks are having. I've got the PVR150 (standard), and with this new version (the only version I have) it seems to (a) hang a little bit or freeze, (b) the audio sounds a little strange vice when operating in WinTV2000 (I think I can tweak this), and I'm getting some © bad hicups.

My question is, where can I get the previous version you folks were discussing?? (btw --- I just discovered this software today, and it looks pretty incredible!!!Wink.

Thank you & Warmest regards,
