First, KUDOS to the creater[s] of GBPVR and all the folks that have had input in making it the best alternatives to MS MCE and it's protected DVR-MS  files that can't be copied to DVD.
Some of you may have seen a posting similar to this one on the hardware forum of this site. That may have been the wrong one to post this issue on, so I'll try it here.
My only hope is that there is someone out there that has had a similar experience with GBPVR channel changing capabilities. There seems to be some kind of interaction with MCE 2005 software when it comes to the MCE v2 remote transceiver and blasters.
Hereâs the setupâ¦.I have the latest GBPVR, and v2 MCE remote, receiver/beanbag (black) and 2 emitters/blaster on WINXP SP2 MCE system.
I have GBPVR configured to use "2005 MCE Blaster Plugin" for a channel changer and have programmed my STB's remote (0-9) signals to the plugin.
GBPVR works great and exceeded my expectations UNTIL my system wakes from hibernation or S3 Standby. Then GBPVR will not change channels on my STB. When I get it working again and the system reboots or wakes up from S1 standby, GBPVR works great, hibernation and S3 Standby seem to be the only functions that cause GBPVR to stop working. It's almost like GBPVR needs to get a handle on some part/componet of the "Media Receiver Service" to function, after it does, the "Media Receiver Service" has to be stopped in order for GBPVR to change channels.
The only way I can get GBPVR back in control after hibernation/S3 standby is:
1. Activate Media Center > MY TV > Live TV
2. Exit Media Center.
3. Go to Administrative Services > Services > Stop Media Receiver Service.
4. Re-activate GBPVR and all is well. Channel change works perfectly.
If I allow the system to go into hibernation or S3, I have to do the above steps all over again. If I use the MCE Infrared remote control driver vs. eHome USB driver, I canât get it to work at all. I really donât care if the hand held MCE remote works or not, I just need GBPVR to be able to change channels on the STB consistantly.
Thank you in advance for any guidence any of you may have on the problem.
