I downloaded and ran GBPVR02311.msi
after installing microsoft .net, on WinXP pro.

Error 1720: There is a problem with this windows installer package.
A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personell or package vendor.

I removed and reinstalled both .net and the msi to no avail.
I re-downloaded the msi twice to no avail.
Is there a bug in the install script?

Another user had this problem in the past and corrected it by installing an updated Windows installer package from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloa....lang=en

That said, it should work without this since I do all my test deployments on a vanilla XP SP1 (virtual) machine, but its worth a shot.

Thanks that worked - perhaps you could add it to the homepage. Incidentally I am using XP SP2 but I may have installed a previous version of windows script in the past.

I have an AverMedia TVPhone98 with Bt878 tuner so looks like I'll need to upgrade which I was thinking of doing anyway. The bundled software often leaves a lot to be desired (eg EPG!Wink

Its only happened three times in the last year, so pretty rare and not work a mention on the home page. It is mentioned in the install guide: http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...ationNotes
