Hello,

Thanks for a great program!

I have 2 questions.
1. I travel alot and use remote desktop to access my home computer which has PVR 150, 250mce to record my programs.
I am unable to schedule GBPVR 2.38 to record programs through remote desktop. Is there a registry entry or .ini file that I would be able to eddit to accomplish this? I've read some things about Web Scheduling but don't know anything about it. Is this what I need to use?

2. I can post messages, but I am unable to post a reply to my messages to say thanks or anything else. Does anybody have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,
Rick

I use UltraVNC to connect to my machine, I don't have any problems scheduling stuff.

Your problem is most likely related to the fact that you are in a different session to the active recording application when you log in via remote desktop

I do this all the time.  I also have the web interface running but I rather like the schedule search function on the console as well.

I run windows XP on my GB-PVR box and it works rather well.  I even have it going through a non-standard port through my firewall and it behaves very well even through a DSL connection.  Just make sure you have enabled remote access on the box and you should be good to go.

However, if you're running Windows 2000, things are a little different.  When you log in remotely, you aren't logged into the console.  If you're running GB-PVR on the console, you won't see it because your effectively runing a second, virtual session which doesn't see the GB-PVR software on the console.  Having said that, I wonder what would happen if you ran two copies of GB-PVR on the same machine in different sessions?

Ultimately, if you're running W2k, aside from setting up the web interface, (which is a piece of cake, do a search) your only other option is to go the PC-Anywhere route.

Basically, as long as you don't expect to actualy watch TV, you should have no problem with remote access to your desktop.

My PVR is in the utitily room and I access it all the time with remote desktop. The only reason I can think of for your problem is if it was installed under a different user profile and is not available to all users on the computer.

If you use the same account to log into remote desktop as you used to install the software it should work.

Im using it similar as you, and i don't use VMR7/9 when using remote desktop because of DirectX-issues...
That gives an error...
Solution is to set to Overlaymanager in the config, then it normally works ok to run gbpvr in a remote desktop.

Don't know if this is your problem though...
