EVening/morning all Smile

Ive been succesfully recording to DVR-ms since found this brilliant program but have started to venture into transcoding.

Firstly, the programme never deletes the original recording as the slection box on the post processing tab suggests it should.

I also seem to get a huge number of randomly named files (such as gbepg-TC23,490000,0,0,8.dvr-ms) in the recording directory, but they show nothing and they even appear when i havent recorded or time-shifted.

Lastly (sorr to go on!) when i transcode to Divx and play the transcoded file in any programme (includeing GBPVR) the aspect ration is different to the recording?

Thanks alot for any help you can give me!

These files appear because you're using the DVB EPG. There is a bug when using this with the DVR-MS mux that can cause these files to be left behind after the EPG update. Its fixed in the next build. Just delete these files from time to time for now.

Ah right ok then, wasnt proving to be a big problem just one of those things, wondered why they kept appearing!

As for the transcoding issue, after transcodeing the original never gets deleted, and as stated, when transcoding to divx the aspect ratios are wrong? Any thoughts?

Can you reproduce the problem and post the logs?

I will do later once ive finished waching a film.

I was also wondering why my recordings appear to stutter slightly. THroughout playback it looks like the recording is at a lowish frame rate so when something moves across the screen it is like it has a trail, like the old mouse cursor effct in windows.

Aswell as this, every 10 or so seconds there is a more major stutter for about half a second or so. Just a bit confusing! Im using the DVR-ms mux and am not transcoding the rcordings.
Thanks Smile

Its probably related to your video decoder, but could also be caused your video card or its drivers.

Can you expand on this a little further. How can i check/change the video decoder? As for my Video card its an ATI x1950 256mb so surely this so shouldnt be the problem? Its got the latest drivers etc.

You select the video decoder on the playback tab of the config app. Try other decoders to see if they perform better for you.

AVI files dont use the same decoders as your system will be using for MPEG files, so that doesnt really tell us much. I'm not sure what the other video files you have are, but I'm guessing they're also not MPEG2 files, so also wont be using the same decoders.
