Newbie post so please be nice

I have a freecom dvb-t usb stick that was originally supplied with wdm drivers and awful s/w.

finally freecom released the bda drivers and so i saw gb pvr as the sw solution.

Unfortunately the tv guide doesnt populate and the epg doesnt seem to work.

I have set the epg to dvb epg broadcast and when i try and 'import' the process freezes on channed 35 (iirc) with 1 second remaining. the pc remains functional but i have to cancel the epg import to continue in any way.

ive read the wiki on epg, is the xmltv import necessary in uk? i also tried this but the dos dialogue returned that the file could not be loaded as site or data unavailable (sorry memory is a tad woolly on the exact message)

Hit the 'update epg' button in your capture source settings, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log files.

After 3 days of of headache trying to get MCE to scan any channels with my card I finally gave up spent most of today installing and configuring GBPVR which has so far worked fantastic even managed to get my remote working with various 3rd party software. GBPVR is FANTASTIC!!

However Im getting exactly the same problem as you trying to receive epg through DVB-T Freeview I click update EPG and I can hear the HDD spin for a few seconds and then nothing, startup PVRX2 and still nothing in the guide.

Same advice to you. Attach those logs and I'll take a look.

Sorry to have bothered you sub, Just clicked update EPG and this time its started doing summat different. its scanning all the channels presumably storing the epg data for them

Looks like the problem has fixed itsself but thanks a lot for the prompt response!

Hi again

Interestingly the scan did not freeze this time ?!?!?

I did close the G icon in the task menu (GB PVR?) may that have had something to do with it?

However the tv listing in both GBPVR and PVRX2 are blank

I dont think those are the right logs. I cant see any attempt to update the EPG in those.

Try again. Start the config app, then click the 'update epg' button in your capture source settings and repost those logs.

inc a screenshot before it returns to the main config screen. it seems to suggest it is saving the info..... :confused:
