Has anyone thought about a torrent plug-in that can search, download, and manage torrents? Is this possible?

Would it be a posibility to use the uTorrent WebAdmin API instead of building a whole new client? Even if it was just able to view, start and stop torrents in the queue, and report down/up speeds and percent complete?
GBPVR: A64 X2 6000+, ASUS M2A-VM HDMI, 4GB ram, 8800GT GFX, 2x Nova-T DVB-T, 1x D-Box2 Cable reciever, 2x Wired MVP's, 1.0.16. Vista.
Plugins: MusicLibrary2, Weather, Int Cinema Listings, Burn DVDX2, D-Box2 Plugin, DVD Ripper.

This is what I currently use but isn't much fun sitting on the floor 2 feet in-front of the TV with keyboard and mouse. Did think of investigaing wether a GB-PVR UI "wraper" could sit on top of the the uTorrent WebAdmin/API but never got round to investigating it.

It seems people are writing various gadgets to access the uTorrent WebUI, could a few of these links be useful:

WebUI overview
.NET library for uTorrent WebUI
WebUI calls

Hope they are helpful though McBain!

LOL, after writing my previous post curiosity got the better of me so I done a bit of investigating myself.

Seems like we both got to the same page (.NET library for uTorrent WebUI). Seems there would be some mileage in using that. Hopefully the source code is provided so I can tweak it if required.

Don't hold your breath though :p

I wont! Im no programmer so i dont know what limitations there would be. It did seem as though if a plugin can make simple a call (ie http://[IP]:[PORT]/gui/?list=1) this info could then be displayed in a plugin to show all the various info. maybe buttons could be added to show different labels, or to to show active/dl'ing/seeding etc.

If i want to have a play myself (just out of curiosity! Dont expect i'll achieve anything!) what plugin would perform a similair function? ie request info from an url and display in a GBPVR plugin?

I probably wouldn't start with making web calls myself, would just make use of the .NET library from the forum link and then expand if necessary.

Well i'll keep an eye out, let us know if you come up with anything.

Ive always wanted to look at how to create plugins, so might use some of these rescources to teach myself a few things... I'll let you know how long before i get stuck!

I looked web interface but after a while, I swapped over to a .NET open source client.... that way I get better control over the system. I'm based my on the Halite open source version.

[COLOR="Red"]Wow- I never thought you'd all be this interested, here's my suggestion, I'm working away next week, so I've got 3 nights in a hotel, how about I get a build stable for you to try and we'll then work on the bugs....
