I have a Twinhan DVB-C CI (AD-CP300 / 2033) that I'd like to use in GBpvr (obviously Wink ), but I haven't yet been able to actually get a video from it...

I'm using what I believe is the latest BDA drivers for it, 1.1.0.300 from 14th December 2007.

My cabel provider, YouSee (yes, that's what they thought would be a good name...), use Viaccess encoding, and though I do have a subscription card from them, I haven't got the phoenix/smartmouse card reader for it yet. But there are some (3) FTA channels that they carry unencoded.

GBpvr finds the card fine, and I got it to find the FTA channels once (though I didn't get to see them in the preview window). So they're now listed in the config app, and I've mapped them to the EPG:

When I try to record something I just get a very small dvr-ms file, like this Hun så et mord_20080213_17251815.dvr-ms (6KB).

If I try to edit the source and click "Map digital channels to EPG channels" it starts scanning and then hangs at this point:

Looking in the logs I get this response in config.exe-native.log:

Code:
2008-02-13 18:53:13.281    INFO    Log started
2008-02-13 18:53:13.281    VERBOSE    getSetting(LoggingLevel)
2008-02-13 18:53:13.281    VERBOSE    getSetting(LoggingLevel)
2008-02-13 18:53:13.281    INFO    Logging Level is Info
2008-02-13 18:53:13.281    INFO    Log flushing enabled
2008-02-13 18:54:13.890    INFO    BDARecorder:::StartRecording(Twinhan Mantis DVB-C BDA Receiver, 1, c:\test.mpg, T:C,50500,6875,QAM64,8)
2008-02-13 18:54:14.421    ERROR    Unexpected error starting graph...

When I try to open the bda.grf file there are a number of components in it, but they're not connected, like this:

I don't really know what to do from here, I can't get the components in the graph connected, and I assume that's the problem GBpvr stumbles over...

I've uploaded the logs here: logs-twinhan-13-02-2008.rar

I've been trying other driver versions, from 1.0.3 I think, and up, but most of them results in the config app saying that the card isn't available when I click "Map digital channels to EPG channels", with 1.1.0.300 it at least gets a bit further.

Can you set the logging level back to 'debug' then reproduce the problem and repost the logs?

Its unable to connect the device up, which ultimately results in it failing to start. The most common reason for this is that some other software on the machine is using the device.

Hmm, interesting, thanks for spotting that! There isn't anything else running, but maybe the program that comes with the card does something strange. I'll try to uninstall it all and just install the bda driver!

Thanks for the super quick reply (as always) Smile

I uninstalled the other tv software and the driver, and then reinstalled the driver after a reboot, but I'm getting the same error...

Is there anyway to track down what could be holding up the card? or could there be another reason for the error?

Its no easy to tell.

If you run filtercheck.exe from the gbpvr directory, then attach the filtercheck.log, I'll check the pin names are correct.

I'm using the 1.0.1.3 drivers with my Twinhan DVB-C device. Is that the version you're using?

I was using 1.1.0.300 from 14th December 2007 (from DigitalRise), but I just downgraded to 1.0.3.0 from the 6th September 2006, and now the scanning seems to work again! Smile

I'll let it work through the scan and see if everything is working with this driver Smile I assume the preview window is suppose to be black as long as nothing is selected?
