I have been using GBPVR with an Haupauge HVR1600 and windows XP for over a year now. My digital QAM recordings were perfect. I was able to play them back with GBPVR and also stream them to my TV with my DSM 520 media lounge. I recorded them in TS format.

I have since installed Vista on my machine and setup the latest GBPVR version. Since then my Qam recordings just don't work. I've tried numerous different video and audio decoders with very little succes. The best I've been able to achieve is playback on my media lounge with picture and no audio.

I'm ready to go back to XP.

Any suggestions

Is it the recording or the playback that is the problem?

There isnt too much advice I can provide on the playback side. GB-PVR doesnt play much of a role in the playback. The choice of video decoders and video renderer have the biggest impact on playback, so try different combinations of these.

It doesnt make any sense that your DSM520 would have no audio though!

The weird thing is that I have my hard drive partitioned so I can boot to XP or Vista. I originally tried to select the same video and audio decoders that I have set in GBPVR on the XP boot to my Vista boot.

If I boot to the XP version my shows record and playback fine. I can even move that file from it's folder on the XP side to the Vista side and it plays perfectly both in GBPVR and my DSM520.

If I set up the recordings on the Vista side I experience the problems I mentioned.

That sounds more like recording problems than playback problems then.

Do a recording then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Your Vista gbpvr configuration is set to record in dvr-ms.
Code:
2008-02-29 08:27:25.375    VERBOSE    Target DVR-MS filename: C:\GBPVR Recordings\Good Morning America\Good Morning America_20080229_07000900.dvr-ms
Try changing the mux setting to TS.

I have had this set to TS previously only to have the sames results. I have tried every mux I show. TS,Cyberlink and Microsoft without any real change.
I would be willing to try again if you feel it would result in a better outcome.
