HD Reckordings will not play

Hi,

After I record a program in HD and I goto the recordings tab and try to watch it; the program will not play. I can watch it if I go to the videos tab, but not in the recordings tab. I can watch SD recordings no problem in both places. I have attached some logs but I am not sure if they are the right ones or not.

Try playing the recording, then zip and attach the PVRX2.exe.log and PVRX2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

From what I can tell there seems to be something wrong with the directshow filters on your machine. You setup doesnt seem to realise it needs to use the DVR-MS file source filter to play your .dvr-ms file. You'll probably find you cant play these files in Windows Media Player either.

Unfortunately I've never come across this specific problem though, so I dont really have any advice for you on how to fix it.

That is really weird. I can play it in Windows media player, but it takes about a minute to come up. It says that it is acquiring codec. But when I go into video library, in PVRX2, it plays right away. There is 2 files in the directory for the recorded show. One that does not do anything and one that is the recording (with the -1 on the end). Is this normal?

The SD recordings only have one file per recording.

Does the -1 file play in WMP?

Yes, that is the only one that plays. The other one is only 5.74kb and does not play at all.

The recording screen is most likely linked to the 5.74kb file, which explains why its not playing.

For whatever reason, you device is either not initially delivering data, or the multidec plugin is initially failing to decrypt the channel, resulting in the recording being restarted. Because the recording is still linked to the original empty 5.74kb file, its not going to play.

Is there any way to change how long it waits before the recording is restarted? I know that on some of the HD channels it takes a bit for them to decrypt.

It waits about 25 seconds. Surely it isnt going to take longer than that.
