This has happened before and it was suggested it was mux related. However, I think I can now consistently reproduce this.

I recorded a 1/2 hour program on the s-video inputs of my mce150. The file length seemed to be correct (1.2GB). However, when I play the file, time shows up as 1 min 38 secs. If I don't RW or FF, it will play the full 1/2 hour in pvrx2 and wmp. But if I FF, it only plays 1:38. Comskip seemed to have run on it too, but that didn't show up on the time bar either.

I recorded another program, and I think it was done on the hvr1600 RF input, and it is totally fine! WTH!!!

8AM was good recording, 10AM the bad:

Sorry, the times were 8 and 9:30, not 10.

Indeed sounds like the 150-timestamp issue, did you read the first post in this thread and follow the instructions?

Lol, it's in a sticky! I'm an idiot.

I ready through that once 1.5 months ago, but probably didn't pay attention because at the time this wasn't happening.

I will go check it out and see if this can help.

It does sound like the PVR150 timestamp problem. Unfortunately I suspect the same registry settings wont do anything for the HVR1600 drivers. We'll probably have to try talking to Hauppauge about this at some stage. (i'm a little too busy at the moment, but maybe next week)

Sub-

It seems that the recording happened on the 150 MCE so, at least for me, I still haven't seen it on the HVR-1600.

Ok, its almost certainly the timestamp error then. Follow the instructions in the sticky thread and you should be sorted for future recordings.

Have any of you seen this timestamp problem with the ATI Theatre Pro 550? All mpeg videos recorded with GBPVR using my ATI TV card have incorrect length information. They will play fine, but I can only fast forward up to the reported length which is about 56 seconds for a half hour video.

No, I've never seen this reported for the ATI 550 Pro. First I'd confirm the incorrect duration is reported in other players using the same files. If it is, then you'll probably need to report the fault to ATI.
