I am having an issue where I I make a change to the menu structure (want to hide FM Radio, Net Radio) in the config.exe, but when I open pvrx2 the menus are all still there. So I went to take a look at the config.xml which is what I understand is the actual configuration file.

If I double-click the file it opens in IE - I scroll down to the menu layout section and the menu items I want hidden still display as being enabled (see below) - in the config.exe all three of the below menus are un-checked.

<Task enabled="false">FM Radio</Task>
<Task enabled="true">Net Radio</Task>
<Task enabled="true">YouTube</Task>

If I right-click the config.xml (same file I double-clicked on above) and select edit, the menu layout section seems to be aligned with the settings I've chosen in config.exe (see below).

<Task enabled="false">FM Radio</Task>
<Task enabled="false">Net Radio</Task>
<Task enabled="false">YouTube</Task>

I'm sure I'm missing something simple but vital, but it seems there are two versions of this file (one for viewing and one for editing)? How do I get my changes to actually take effect?

FYI - I have rebooted the computer and the results are the same. This is a brand new installation so it is the latest version of GBPVR (1.2.9).

Thanks

There was never a "FM Radio" for PVRX2, so you definitely wont be seeing that task in PVRX2 unless you happen to have created a folder with that name.

Are you instead running GBPVR.exe?

Are you on Vista?

Did you double-click the file BEFORE closing Config? If so, the settings wouldn't have been saved. If not, then IE is possibly opening a cached copy???

BTW I never use anything but Notepad to view or edit config.xml - other apps can mess it up.

Cheers,
Brian

If you are running Vista, it may be the VirtualStore getting in the way. Check "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\VirtualStore\Program Files\Devnz\gbpvr" to see if there is a copy of config.xml

Thanks it was driving me crazy - it was the virtual store. I deleted the config.xml in the virtual store and restarted GBPVR and PVRx2 and all my changes were there again.

My mistake - I never actually saw the FM Radio in PVRX2 - but it does show up in the plugins configuration screen - that is what I was comparing with the config.xml. And it makes sense since the FM Radio was the only menu item that wasn't enable in either view.
