I had GBPVR working with a PVR 350 card. I wanted to add a second card so I could record two programs at a time. I bought a PVR 150 MCE card.

I saw elsewhere in the forums that I should install the drivers for the regular PVR 150 card. I downloaded them from Hauppauge and did that, at least I think I did.

In CONFIG when I try to add a Recording Source and have it only list the cards it finds, it shows the new card as PVR 150 MCE (or something like that). I select that card and things don't work well. I won't elaborate about the particular problems right now. Read on.

To try to isolate the problem I removed the PVR350 card and just left the PVR150MCE dcard in. I reinstalled the drivers (I think). The GBRecordingService (or something like that) in Task Manager start running and keeps going at 100% cpu load. I let it run for an hour and still no change.

I deleted all the error logs and rebooted. I started PVRX2 and went into TV Listings and selected a program to "Watch". The Recordingservice in Task Manager ran at 100% cpu load. I killed it and looked at the logs.

The PVRX2.exe log had the foollowing entry at its end.

Can you help me with what I need to do to correct this?

Can you post the recording service logs? (GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log and GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log)

After I posted the message I noticed that in CONFIG I had both the 150MCE and 350 defined as Device #1.

I changed the 150 to be device #2. I also noticed an entry in the logs about the filters so I ran the Re-RegisterFilters BAT file. I deleted all logs and rebooted.

Windows did not find a new hardware device on boot-up. I started PVRX2 and requested to Watch a program in TV Listings. I got a pop-up saying there were no Tuners Available.

I have attached all the logs generated.

I notice several things probably of interest:

(GBPVRRecording Service.exe log) Failed to find Cross bar Filter
(GBPVRRecordingService log) Failed to locate configured capture device

I assume these are related to not having the driver correctly installed for the 150 MCE card.

I want to use the 350 and 150 cards to record programs (using their hardware encoders) and view the recordings with a MediaMVP (and am on waiting list for a PopcornHour) using its hardware decoder.

QUESTION: Can I use the driver that comes with the 150 MCE card or do I have to use a driver for the regular 150 card? Can you point me specifically to what I have to do to get the 150MCE card configured correctly.

You need to set the logging level back to debug, reproduce the error and repost the logs.

The devices need to be device #1 and #2. If it doesnt seem to work with the initial numbers you try, then swap the numbers and try again.

I switched so the 150MCE (which was the only card physically in the computer) was device #1 and the 350 was device #2.

The 150MCE card worked.

I then just had to reinstall the drivers for the 350 card (using the CD it came with) and am now able to record two programs simultaneously.

Thank you.

I Love This Program!
