Hi all!

First of all I just wanted to express my gratitude for gbpvr. Where Media Portal failed in every department trying to get ISO files to work, gbpvr worked right off the bat; that is, on my computer at work where I first tested it. At work I am running;

gbpvr 1.29
daemon tools 4.09
External USB HD directly hooked up to my comp

By just setting the three Daemon Tools options in gbpvr, it worked right away and mounted the ISOs fine. At home I had the following setup;

gbpvr 1.29
daemon tools 4.12.2
USB HD on secondary comp, mapped up as Network Drive on my gbpvr PC

Here, no matter how I set the options, it will not mount the discs. I also had some problems actually setting the options correct. If I for example set Daemon Tools to be drive D, set number of devices to 1, and THEN selected the program path, only the program path would be saved when I hit the OK button, and devices and drive letter where reset to default. I could fix this by opening up options and changing only those two values though, and saving the changes. Anyways, here are my symptoms;

* No disc mounted in daemon tools; start up gbpvr; open up video library and selecing a video; error message saying "no disc in drive".
* Mounted a random ISO from the network drive using daemon tools; started up gbpvr; open up video library and selecing a random video; the mounted ISO starts, no matter what I chose in the Video Library

I am sooooo close to getting this to work, and I would be gratefull if anyone had a tip on how I can resolve this issue.

Also, a quick feature request; I currently have 3 terrabyte spread across 5 disks, and I'll probarbly end up with 2-3 terrabyte more when I'm done ripping all my DVDs (I got a BIG collection) to ISO. Are there some way that I can make gbpvr browse all disks as one disk? I can't imagine it being that hard to load off the file lists from all disks, then the images, and then displaying them in one huge list?

Oh, and a feature that could be turned on in the config, that caches that file list and all the images to a local file, that can be accessed for quick browsing, instead of having to load all the files when you browse. This would make the list static, but there could be a "refresh my list" or "update my list" button if you wanted to get the changes.

most likely it's network access..you have the iso's on a net share...gbpvr is a service so it can't see mapped drives...
a recent post about 'netshare' could solve this...

but might wanna try using net paths first...'\\server\path'
[simpler]

EDIT: scratch that...check your config.xml settings manually for daemon tools..make sure it's saving it correctly..
[and remember to reboot if changing drive letters]

also i see it's something they've changed in this release..maybe not working correctly?

re: feature request at the end. I have 3 terabytes across 7 drives on a network server. I tend to use MoveWiz plugin now to reference all the various shares at the same time in one place. It has a batch mode to allow a refresh to be done of the movie lists. Not sure this helps, as I guess you want to use Video Library. Not sure how MovieWiz behaves with ISOs and Daemon Tools though, haven't had a chance to try this out as I don't have DT installed at the moment.

Are your disks all local, or on a network?

MovieWiz works perfectly with iso-files. I have disk space all over the network and have no problems playing any files. Moviewiz saves the "\\network" address, so it should work ok.
As I remember it, MovieWiz use GBpvr to load the images.

re: ISOs and MoveWiz. Thats good to know as I was planning to rip all my DVDs to ISO as well (endless hours of fun that will be :eek: ).

I got 2 internal 500GB disks on my computer up at my comp room, as well as 2x 500GB and 1x 1TB USB disks. I will also need about two more 1TB disks to fit all my DVDs, as well as rip all my music CDs and my photos. I'll try out the MoveWiz plugin, thanks for the tip Smile

As far as my problem go, I solved it by doing as suggested; I went into the xml file with the settings, and for some reason it didn't point to the correct directory (it was missing "Lite" in "DAEMON Tools Lite"). You can't see that when you edit the options, since the textbox is too small. Whatever the case, since I did actually point to the directory, the setting was not saved, so I believe I've found a bug. Thanks for the tip, it fixed my issue Smile

Thanks guys! I am setting up GBPVR for first time and was going crazy trying to get iso's to play.
Manually setting the daemon tools path in the config.xml worked perfectly.
