Hauppauge Remote Issue

Hey Everyone,

Aplogies if this has been covered elsewhere - ive done a few searches but havent found the exact issue i have...

My PC previously had a Hauppauge NOVA-S-PLUS card with the jackpoint for a hauppauge remote , I also had an analogue PVR150 card.

Since there was only 1 card in the system that supported the remote - this all worked fine and dandy.

Last night i added another card to the equation - a Hauppauge HVR-4000 for the DVB-T side of things (and addtional sat source).

Ive been able to pick up sat and DVB-T (and seem to have have analogue side of it working too) - so might be able to remove the PVR150.

My only issue is this - my formerly working remote doesnt work at all !!

Ive tried plugging into the nova-s (where it was previously) - ive also tried plugging into the HVR-4000 .... and neither seem to do anything.

I had the direct access to hauppauge turned off via the gbpvr config previously - as more of the buttons on my 45 button remote seemed to function when using it non-directly using the hauppauge IRremote software.

Any ideas / tips / tricks on how to get my remote working again - as my pc is pretty much useless without a remote.

Check your Windows Task Manager (Hold Ctrl+Shift press Esc to bring it up).

Make sure the ir.exe program is running. You can restart IR by going to your hauppauge menu in Start and selecting Restart IR. See if that is the problem.

I'm not an expert in the inner workings of the Hauppauge remote, but from memory the remote will only function on the last device installed. It may have overwritten your irremote.ini file, so you may need to click the 'fix hauppauge remote settings' button in the config app to add the GB-PVR settings back in.

You should have direct access to the remote turned off unless you have a PVR250 or PVR350.

i had done the 'fix settings' and the restart IR.
ive also rebooted.
tho the plug is in the nova at the moment

I might try shutting down - putting the plug into the HVR-4000 - restarting pc, trying the restart again - and seeing if its any better.

I was having clashes with PVR150 and Nova-t-500. Fortunately the IR device of the nova-t had a separate entry in device manager and I could disable it. Any sign of that with yours ?
