My memory is bad...

What is the name of that software that can help setting custom resoltions for your monitor?

I thought it woas something like Power Desk....

powerstrip is only going to adjust the resolution of your monitor and isn't going to do anything with your video except make the video program you use stretch it out more or less depending on the resolution.

I think you may be looking for something like ffdshow which will actually upconvert your video to a resolution you specify. It also has many other color correction, noise reduction, sharpening, etc. tools to make not so good video look better on your monitor/hdtv. You should have a fairly recent CPU however if you are going to use it.

Actually Power Strip can alsp force refresh rates. If the hardware is capable but just doesn't let you, then Power Strip is great from removing the constraints.

When I was in Australia, I used it to force a refresh rate for the TV...
