It seems when in timeshift mode or recordings in progress that I cannot forward to the absolute end of the recording. If I try the picture just hangs, if I skip backl a little it comes to life again. It seems like the catch up point is "in the future". So how hard gbpvr is trying, it cannot find the catch up point.

So for now I skip forward until it "hangs" and then just a 10 sec skip back.
Frustrating little problem this is...

Any help appreciated!

you are using a pvr150 arnt you
its sort of the time stamp issue but in reverse it adds about 10 second for every hour but not always the same on all tuners

Nothing to do with the PVR150 I think. Same happens to me no matter which card is doing the recording. As Barsk says, if watching a recording in progress and you skip forward to get past the commercials you can't quite catch up. The nearest you can get is probably three or maybe two minutes. If you press skip when you are that close to realtime I also find the screen freezes for a while (maybe 30 seconds or so?). Pressing skip backward brings it back to life, although sometimes I need to do it more than once. I just live with it.

Hasso

No, no PVR150. I have Twinhan and a Terratec Cinergy DVB-T cards with BDA drivers.

I'm not aware of this. Very seldom do I watch a recording to the very end as the show is usually over before the end of the recording. Only thing I remember is that occasionaly the the last frame would freeze and it would be a few seconds (maybe 10?) before going back to the recordings screen.

Problem solved!

I had two issues: occasional audio/video sync problems and the catch up problem. These may have been related. However the solution for me was this:

Change the Audio decoder to Dscaler from Nvidia. I have Cyberlink video decoder. Although I have tested this before with sad results it seems now that all worked perfectly. I have an S/SPDIF out setup for all but MPEG audio.
That in itself may have been the solution to both problems, but I also changed the MPEG demuxer from Cyberlink to DVR-MS. And all is sweet and well now!

So, one of these changes was the solution - or maybe both in conjunction. Both my issues are gone!

However, now it seems client/server does not work anymore... Is that dependant of having the Cyberlink demuxer, i.e producing .mpeg files?

I think that was most likely the culprit.

A more ususal case is when you hit Pause in Live TV to get a beer or something and then start to look again. When the commercials starts you naturally want to forward as far as possible. Then you hit the catch up point...
