Is there any way to switch audio stream in gbpvr in TS mux mode?
I've tried ^G and Morgan Stream Selecter filter but no luck.

I'm using the latest gbpvr v1.2.9 with client/server (file sharing) on TS mux mode. (I use TS mux as it gives me smooth video comparing to MSDVR-MS or Cyberlink Mux).

It works fine for some channels but no sound on channels with AC3.
I did the record to .ts file and played it using VLC player. I found out the it has 2 audio streams and the first track does not have sound. The 2nd track is fine. So gvpvr playback is using the 1st audio track so it has no sound.

Further tests on channels without AC3. I found out that they also have two audio tracks, but 1st track has sound so gbpvr works fine.

FYI, I have the KWORLD ATSC 330U ASTC/NTSC USB Tuner with BDA driver.
I got info from graphedit and added entry to bda.ini:

[Kworld 330U (ATSC)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=BDA 2883 TVTuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=BDA 2883 Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=Mpeg2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=Mpeg2 Transport

I have to add channels manually from SCAN-1.cache after scan.
Here are some entries from SCAN-1.cache:

T:30,9,3~P:3~V:81~A:83~PMT:80~PCR:81~N:>9.3 WORLD (000)
T:30,9,3~P:3~V:81~A:84~PMT:80~PCR:81~N:>9.3 WORLD (000) #2
T:30,9,3~P:3~V:81~A:85~PMT:80~PCR:81~N:>9.3 WORLD (000(AC3))

All three channels have perfect video, but last one with AC3 has no sound in gbpvr as its first audio track has no sound. If I use Cyberlink mux then all three have sound, but video is jagging. Also in client/server mode, cyberlink *.mpg file keeps growing very big while client is watching.

MS DVR-MS Mux does not work for me on client/server mode.
TS Mux only works in file sharing mode and not streaming mode.
Cyberlink mux works bad in file sharing mode but works in streaming mode.

No there isnt. It only records the one audio track that was selected when you mapped the file.

Cheers I'll add it to the master file.

Usually if the channels arent automatically found during a scan, but the device is functioning, then its normally able to be fixed by running reregisterfilters.bat.

Thats the intended behaviour. It doesnt just keep growing though. It eventually switches to a new file and deletes the old one.

Thank you for the response. I encountered another problem now. In TS mux with server/client in Live TV mode, the client can view the TV for 30 seconds and then repeated the same 30 seconds clip from the start. At the same time the server stopped the recording to .ts file and started a new file to <samename>.mpg. Apparently the client does not know to play the new *.mpg and just repeats that 31725 KB *.ts file again and again. Did I configure anything wrong?

To be honest, there is no support for using .ts files in client/server mode. It was only design for .mpg files, and has never been tested with .ts files. I do hope to change that in the near future, but it'll have to wait until I have a bit more available time.

Thank you, sub. It's good enough for now. I just have to change Wifi from WPA to WEP or open, as the max rate is only 12 Mbits/s when using WPA in my home. client/server with mpg will need over 20 Mbps to be smooth. Well, I'll open wifi and do MAC filtering...

I was just watching an ATSC stream and I noticed this on the PCH

m> 0_PmtSetAVList index=1 prog=0x00a pid=0x030
m> 3 PES streams:
m> vpid[0]= 0x0031(0x02)= mpeg 2 video
m> ecm_pid=0x1FFF
m> apid[0]= 0x0034(0x81)= ac3 audio
m> ecm_pid=0x1FFF
m> apid[1]= 0x0035(0x81)= ac3 audio
m> ecm_pid=0x1FFF

And it defaults to the silent PID.

I'll see if I can rewrite the PMT packet in the TS file for the 1.3.x release so that it isnt aware that the original broadcasts might have had additional audio streams which werent recorded.

I know now you don't have support for TS mux in client/server mode yet. I'm just query that why the server starts *.ts first and then switches *.mpg in 30 seconds. I think if it's not switched then the client can continue to watch the TS stream. When I just do the recording in server, t's just *.ts all the time. It seems that using TS both server and client are running much smooth and consume less bandwidth.

Honestly I've got no idea why that might happen. Unfortunately I'm a bit bogged down with the day job at the moment, so I cant spare the time to set up a test to reproduce it here.

I'm having a very similar issue as the OP.

I'm using GB-PVR to record HD shows and stream them to a NMT/PCH. However, if I have selected the second audio track for ANY channel during the digital channel mapping setup, the PCH will not play the show with sound at all. Even if I try and select the second audio track there is no sound at all. Most of my software players on the computer will also not play the show with sound (only Nero ShowTime plays it with sound). In order to get the sound back and to have sound in the PCH I have to remux the show using tsRemuxeR (not very convenient for DVR solution).

After the show is run through tsRemuxer there is only one audio track in the file and it plays fine in any software player on the computer and also on the PCH.

It definitely seems as though the file created (I'm using ts mux, btw) by GBpvr is not fully compliant or is missing something. This seems like a bug within the software.

To get around the issue I've selected the first audio track (non-AC3 in some cases) in the digital channel mapping setup in order to get the files to play with sound and not requiring a remux of the file to fix it.

Sub, if you get a change, this really does appear to be an issue with how the shows are recorded. In reality, I should be able to select the AC3 sound in the mapping setup and then select audio 2 from the PCH (or any other software player) and get that track, but that doesn't work - there is no sound unless I select the first audio track to record.

Thanks,
N

Full setup:
win xp
pinnacle hd stick
gb-pvr 1.2.9
TS muxer
recording from OTA/ATSC
I'm NOT using the gb-pvr client on the PCH, I'm just streaming to the PCH using myiHome.
