I've been using gbpvr without a tuner sucessfully for a while with the 1.2.9 release. I bout a nova-t 500 dual tuner card and installed it ok. Live tv works, and I an record etc. The problem comes with time-shifting. If I pause live tv, there's a black screen for about 5 seconds. It then goes tothe paused view (and says paused briefly in the top right-hand corner). If I then press play, it starts again. If I press pause then then play again, the audio goes out of sync with the video - about 2 seconds ahead. If I then press pause and play again, it just hangs.

The main points then are:

1. 5 second initial delay on a pause
2. audio out of sync

I've attached the logs, which seem ok and my config files.

I've got the tuners added as seperate devices (both with device number 1 but different names).

I'm also using the wintv IR software with the 45 button remote in case that makes a difference (I suspect not, but you never know!)

Cheers,
Rich.

just a guess : - It looks like you are using ffdshow. try disabling it in the config or even uninstalling it.

Tried disabling ffdshow, then uninstalling and restarting. didn't make a difference.

I've now removed the tuners and added them again (in the gbpvr config) and that makes no difference. Next steps I guess are to do a clean install of gbpvr (I do have a few plugins and the community skin installed currently).

Just to clarity, when I press 'pause' on live tv, it should show the current screen paused, and pressing play again shold restart straight away? my machine's an AMD 4200 with 2 GB memory and has 100GB free, so wouldn't have thought the spec was an issue. In window mode, it never goes above 20% CPU usage....

No, thats not the case. When you're using live preview mode, you have the advantage of super fast channel changes, but no ability to pause etc, so when press the pause key to enter timeshift mode it has to stop the device and restart it in timeshift mode, which takes about 3-5 seconds.

If you want the pause to work instantly, then you'll need to configure it to run in timeshift full time (by disabling live preview mode). This will come at the expense of slower channel change times though.

Its up to you to decide which behaviour you prefer.
