Is anyone using the Linksys DMA2200 Media Center Extender with GBPVR? This is the one with the built in DVD player. The wife was actually open to getting this when I told her it would let her watch HD video on the TV, and even better yet that it would replace the DVD player currently there, so I'm hoping someone can confirm it works with GBPVR.

Wondering if anyone has gotten it working, if someone knows it doesn't work, etc.

Thanks!

If it can view files from a windows share, or a upnp share then you should be able to share the directory that contains your recordings to let you play them. This would give you simple file access to the GB-PVR recordings.

A much better choice is the popcorn hour device, since that gives you the ability to view the GB-PVR user interface on your popcorn hour, and all the stuff you'd normally be able to do with GB-PVR on your PC. http://www.popcornhour.com/

Yes, lots of US users own them. You have to buy them online instead of at a store though.

I don't suppose this will play NZ HD video (IE - does it handle the LATM audio?) - And does it handle the gbpvr interface like the Hauppauge MVP or does it view the web interface?

I'm soon to be on the market for something to replace my MVP once I go live with Freeview HD!

The PCH works almost exactly like the MVP, and gives you the full UI. Main differences to the MVP is that is that you get a highdef UI on the PCH, its more responsive, and can natively play AVI/TS/MKV/MPG/MP4/DVDs etc.

There is a problem with the Freeview|HD AAC-LATM audio, which means no audio. They have publically stated several times on their forums, and via direct email, that they intend fix this. Just waiting on a new version of the Sigma SDK they use. This is of course not guaranteed until we see the fix...

Does the video but no, not the audio.....yet....they are working on that.

Have a look in the search forums for PCH, or popcorn hour, and the NMT sub-forum there are quite a few threads on it, including sub discussing the audio.

So in a word, "No" the Linksys DMA2200 MCE does not work as advertised with GBPVR.

Correct?
