When installing, I gota fatal error while installing.
The message gave an error to the effect of there was an issue with the installer.

OS: Vista Ultimate SP1
Capture: Hauppauge HVR1800
All .net frameworks installed
pre-installed the C++ runtime prior to install.

Let me know what other information is useful for troubleshooting this error.

You will need to install as administrator, have you tried this?

I have the same issue running Vista SP1 Ultimate - install gets near the end then just rolls back. OS is a fresh install on the machine, capture card is a HVR 4000.

Same problem here as well, although it seems to have installed and I can watch TV.

I got the 1721 error. What I did was use TweakUAC to turn OFF UAC completely Just for the install, then reenable (w/o intervention) http://www.tweak-uac.com/download/

Worked for me on VISTA.

Thougt it may have been Windows Defender, so I disabled that - still same problem. My system seems to think its installed as every time I re-run setup I get the options to repair, modify or remove - typically only seen when the OS thinks it's installed. Yet when I do a about on the Tray icon i'm told I'm running v1.1.5.
Doing a repair or modify reverses out at the end.

Very strange!

Also had a look through the event logs, initially I was getting some stuff about GBPVRTray.exe not being able to be restarted but I figured this was because it was running. So I stopped the Recording Service and close the tray icon and problem gone away.

Also had this ...
Source: MsiInstaller
Detection of product '{4C39136A-165C-4FFA-9621-5D0BE718C64D}', feature 'Complete', component '{AC65F141-A3A1-4851-BA22-8FE3FBB17640}' failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\BDARemoteDevice.exe' does not exist.

This seems to have gone as well when I stopped Defender and the Recording Service before doing the repair.

The only two messages I see now is ...
1) Product: GB-PVR -- Configuration failed.
2) Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: GB-PVR. Product Version: 1.2.9. Product Language: 1033. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1603.
