Hauppauge Remote Not working.

"The installation wizard will configure the Hauppauge Irremote.ini file to allow IR32.exe to support GB-PVR. "

The file was not changed after the install of GBPVR. I tried installing it once, then doing a repair, and modify, with ir.exe running.

"If you use the remote control to control other applications (e.g. WinTV2000) using Hauppauge’s IR32.EXE (started in your Windows “Start Up” group), the GB-PVR installation program will put commands in the IRREMOTE.INI file to control GB-PVR. You will need to restart the IR32.EXE program before this will work - in the installation program you will see the following message:
[insert remote start/stop dialog box here]"

I tried adding the irremote.ini commands shown in the above link manually with no luck. nothing changed. I just pasted them to the end because i didn't understand why there wasn't much under the Applications headding etc.

I'm at a loss. I cannot get the remote to work in GBPVR, but it works in WINTV app ok. I also tried the "Use Direct Access to Hauppague Remote" on the Misc tab of config but no change. Tried that with IR.exe running and not running.

What do I have to do to get the Hauppague remote working?
Will I need something like the HIP application regardless of whether I use direct access or with IR.exe?

Should I start over by uninstalling gbpvr totally?
Is the Hauppague remote supposed to basically work after a default install of GBPVR? or am I reading too much into it being natively supported?
I also picked it as the channel changer in the sources config (haupblast.exe).

i dont have one but did yoiu select it (hauppauge remote)in config and click fix button

wheres the fix button?

config > dvd remote tab> select 45 or 34 button remote.under that there is a button thats something with "fix" in it this adds what you need to the input ini file to get the remote working

that was it. thank you. I saw during my search how to make the green button launch gbpvr instead of wintv so now i'm off to do that.
