Hello,

I really want to leave Windows Media Center and use GBPVR

Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHZ
1GB of RAM
Nvidia Geforce 8600 GTS
2 Hauppauge HVR 1600 cards
Microsoft Remote Model 1039 with this IR Blaster: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/direc...mediactrl2.jpg

These send signals to two STB's. In Media Center they work fine. I am unsure how to get any of this working in GBPVR. I have previously tried GBPVR but had no luck. In fact, I totally screwed it up and I am starting from scratch. Take two, perhaps. So, can anyone help me go through this? Heck, has anyone got this to work themselves without buying something else?

Thanks,
Nick

Its pretty straight forward. Setup two capture sources, one for each analog tuner. You'll need to use an external IR Blaster utility like Hipsend or IR Server Suite. Whichever you end up using, they are setup in your capture source as a ".exe channel changer', with a command line specifying which port to use on your MCE IR Blaster.

What problem have you encounter when you tried to set it up yourself?

My biggest issue was trying to get video to come through the tuners and trying to get IR Server Suite set up correctly.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I'm not the best person to help you with the IR Server Suite side since I've never used it, but there are lots of others here that should be able to help with that.

If you want to use mediaportal, then you're probably asking the wrong people...

My bad; I meant GBPVR; I've been reading about both today... Finally done with school and have a few days off; considering both but I've read GBPVR is easiest to get working.

OK< I think my first issue is figuring out if it is an internal tuner (probably not) or composite, s-video or fixed channel. I'm getting a black screen on Live TV.

Which of these do you want to use? You specify which of these inputs you want to use when you setup your capture source, on the screen where you selected your card type.

Also, dont select the 'MPEG Video Decoder' video decoder option. It causes problems for lots of users, and I see you have it selected.
