I just got a new HVR-1250 and installed it into my pc (which was running GBPVR 1.0.16 fine with a PVR-150). I installed WIN TV and verified that the HVR-1250 is working with sound and video.
I decided it would be a good time to upgrade to the latest version of GBPVR. I verified that my analog tuner installed correctly and is still working with the new installation. All OK.
I update my bda config file with this:

[Hauppauge HVR-1250MCE (ATSC)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV 885 BDA Tuner/Demod
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV 885 TS Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

[Hauppauge HVR-1250MCE (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=Hauppauge WinTV 885 BDA Tuner/Demod
FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV 885 TS Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I install the new card go through the tuning process detect a bunch of pretty channels with no sound (I assume this is part of the tuner tool) and move on. When I open PVRX2 Everything looks ok but when I go to live TV I get no sound to go with the pretty HD picture.
I tried changing the Video renderer thinking it might be a compatibility issue no luck. Nothing seems to fix it. It is still working in WINTV.
I have attached a zip of my log files. Hopefully the file is not too big. Notably I have unmapped all of the stations except CH4 my mother in law is visiting and she wants to use the analog part of my PVR so I left the bulk of the channels unmapped.

As a second semi-related question: Can I present my live ATSC data to my MediaMVP? On my initial tests I was not even able to get the video. (I thought maybe the MVP audio would work).
If I can't run the live ATSC on the MVP can I record it and then present it?

I appreciate all of your help. I am sure we will be able to work this out.

I guess I should mention I am running Vista Ultimate (no install problems) Core 2 Duo 6300, 3GB ram

You are tuning to the AC3 audio stream but using the Microsoft audio decoder which is not AC3 capable. Try AC3Filter: http://www.ac3filter.net/releases/ac3filter_1_46_stable

As for the MVP, I think you need to transcode to a non HD MPEG file to view it on the MVP. Someone with an MVP would be better suited to answer though.

The MVP isnt well suited to playing ATSC feeds. The MVP can only play standard definition MPEG1/MPEG2 files with MPEG1 Layer 2 audio. Your ATSC feeds will often be high definition, and will have AC3 audio, making these streams incompatible with the MVP.

You cant use it for live tv, but some people do successfully playback ATSC recordings on their MVP by recording .ts files, then transcoding on the fly to standard def MPEG2 with MPEG1 Layer 2 audio. You need a pretty grunty PC for this to work though, and even then its not an ideal solution.

In summary, the MVP is better suited to standard definition recordings produced by supported analog cards like the Hauppauge PVR150 etc.
