I run an HVR1300 which I have now managed to get AV In (from a Sky STB) bringing in some video.

However, how the heng do I get the audio to work? It won't play back in record or viewing mode.

Will GB-PVR record from the audio in socket on my HVR1300? I would like to get this sorted, so I can bid farewell to Win TV once and for all.

Do I need to run the audio into the line in on my sound card or something? Sad

yeah left/ right and video in then use the blaster to change channels
what plugs does the card have on it it has to go into the card so it can be encoded with the video by the card

white =left channel
red = right channel
yellow = video (composite)

erm, I don't follow what you mean.

Currently my setup is that I have a cable running from the back of my Sky box, with 2 RCA audio ends using a joiner to go into the 3.5mm jack on my tuner card.

This however doesn't record properly in GB-PVR. Works just fine in WinTV, but I hate that program, so want to do all my stuff in GB-PVR.

In my sound card, I have all sorts of inputs, including line in (blue) and mic in (pink). I'd rather use the audio input on my tuner card if possible.

Video is no problem, works just fine.

can you post a picture from the net of what card connections you have

it wont work going into your sound card as it wont get included in the mpeg file that is made by the tuner card

What do you mean by "doesn't record properly in GB-PVR"?

Have you tried playing the recording back in WMP to see if it's a recording or a playback problem. Have you tried your cables with something else to see that they are OK?

perhaps I should rephrase that, it was early after all.

I record, it records the picture to MPEG just fine, but it has no audio.

I do the same thing in Win TV (the Hauppauge software) and it records video and sound, no problem.

What do I need to do in GB-PVR to make it record the sound? I hope this time I am clear enough

composite external tuner. Changing as you suggested made no difference.

I take it from these posts that it should work?

My point is, what can I change in the software, it seems that it isn't picking the right audio input.

:edit:

looked at the log and got the following..
