I have this nice setup of GBPVR and a LCD TV connected through DVI to a Intel graphics chip.
My recordings are interlaced MPEG2 and my big problem was the terrible deinterlacing done by PC based deinterlacers.
And yes, I tried many but none can come near to the quality of the deinterlacer in the rather good TV i have.
Finally I succeeded in getting rid of the deinterlacing by the PC by setting the graphics card to 576P at 50Hz (yes I am PAL) and disabling the deinterlacing by ffdshow.
The TV then discovers that, although it gets Progressive from DVI it actually is interlaced and starts to deinterlace.
Picture quality goes through the roof without tearing, blur, yaggies, stutter or other artifacts.

The home cinema experience finally becomes acceptable using a PC for playback (and GBPVR!)

I agree about the ugly looking menu's but I choose for good video!

My TV is a Philips 42PF9830
The tuner is a NVidia DualTV. Analog PAL recording.
Actually the tuner does not make a difference as a Hauppaugge PVR150 makes the same recordings w.r.t interlacing.

what kind of video card? mine actually has the same deinterlacer as my tv..Big Grin
[ATI Xilleon] but also my intel on board video works even better actually..lol
what is your 'output' section of ffdshow set to?
set only NV12 colorspace and check hardware accell/'set interlace flag in output' and choose bob.. or weave will let tv do it's thing...
this works for HD streams as well...if you have a halfway decent video card..
even ati 7000 can do sd easily...

I am using Intel 82945G graphics.
Cheap onboard, low power
I indeed checked the interlaced output flag but the NV12 did not make a difference.
