Menu button on Hauppauge remote

Is there any mode in PVRX2 that when I press the Menu button it pops up the menu like it did in GBPVR??

The menu button on mine takes me back to the main menu screen. I find that I have to wait a few seconds after I "stop" Net Radio for the key press to be acknowledged. Is there a different menu that you want to pull up?

It used to pop up the main menu as an overlay in GBPVR. This is the Hauppauge remote.

When watching Live TV the menu button seems to do nothing. In gbpvr it used to bring up the main menu with the Live TV in a window.

It'll still go back to the main menu, with tv running in a window, if you're a video renderer that is compatible with it. You can do this with the VMR9 renderers, but not the Overlay or EVR renderers.

So, it has to be running in a window for the menu button to work as it did before (gbpvr)?

No. You just have to be running one of the VMR9 renderers. Pressing 'Home' (or the menu key on the remote) will then switch the currently playing video into a smaller window on the PVRX2 menu screen.

In short, what's the programmatic reason this won't work with Overlay or EVR renderers?

Its because these renderers dont know how to cooperate with the direct3d ui to draw their frames at the correct time, so you end up with a flicking mess where the video window should be (both drawing into the same area at the same time)
