Hi,

Please excuse my ignorance but can anyone please remind me how to go about configuring GB-PVR so that it regularly grabs data from XMLTV.

Am having to click through 'system' followed by 'update EPG' but do not always run GB-PVR on the machine that it's running on but via the web-interface on a remotely connected machine (really like the web-browser functionality by the way).

Thank you.

Best Regards.

In your capture source, set the EPG source to the xmltv data file you want to load. Then add the xmltv command that grabs the data to UpdateEPG.bat located in the devnz\gbpvr program folder. If UpdateEPG.bat doesn't exist, just create it.

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt reply. Much appreciated. I used to have an UpdateEPG.bat file on another PC but since having started to get into GB-PVR again I've forgotten how the data is automatically captured. Please advise what lines need to go into the UpdateEPG.bat file. Think that this was not a straight forward call for XMLTV but there were switches that were recommended.

I've installed XMLTV at the following folder/directory:-

C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI

Edit:

Is this the correct entry for UpdateEPG.bat?

C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\XmltvGUI.exe /Grab

Edit:

The above doesn't seem to work via Run command but the following does therefore assume that this is what needs to be added to UpdateEPG.bat however would appreciate any switches that are recommended - thank you

C:\Program Files\XMLTV GUI\XmltvConsole.exe

Thank you Smile

Really ?? Mine works via with Grab in command line....

What happens if you double click the batch file ??

Afterthought : Have you configured the Grabbers inside XMLTVGUI ?? to download channels from Radio Times and Bleb ??

Hi,

Double clicking on the batch file seems to be fetching data however the command line window opens and closes so quickly I'm not 100% certain.

I'd configured XMLTV for RT and Bleb however shall double check.

The /Grab line that's been entered into the Run command won't work. Am not sure why. Deleting the /Grab switch runs XMLTV but nothing is grabbed.

Probably making a silly mistake somewhere.

I've another query regarding resetting the database that has recorded/failed etc. program data as there's a conflict for Father Ted that will not clear via the web-interface nor via PVRX2. Should start a seperate thread at a guess.

Hi,

Please post an example of your .bat file. Here's the one that I've tried but it's not working:-

@echo off

call "c:\program files\XMLTV GUI\xmltvconsole.exe"

Thank you.

Hi,

An example of a typical .bat file for grabbing EPG data using XMLTV would be much appreciated.

Thank you Smile
