I have a system setup and working with two capture devices, a PVR150MCE and an HVR1250. I was wondering if there is any way to force GBPVR to record using one tuner or the other. It seems like it defaults to recording on the PVR150. Is this because it was the first installed device? As a side issue since I got the digital tuner the digital stream can't be sent to my MVP. I was wondering if I force the HVR-1250 to record something can I watch live tv on the MVP using the analog tuner? Perhaps there is a way I could force GBPVR to use the analog tuner for live tv and the digital to record?
I ask because my antenna is very close to my PC and the reception is much better upstairs near the antenna than down by my TV. If I can use the analog tuner for live tv on the MVP until the conversion to DTV I can save my money for a PCH or maybe a PS3.
Thanks
Wyatt

Yes. Recordings are scheduled top-down from the list of capture sources.

Live TV is allocated in reverse order to recordings, i.e., bottom-up. If you reverse the cap. source order it should give you exactly what you want. The HVR-1250 will be preferred for recordings and the PVR-150 for LiveTV even if the HVR-1250 isn't recording at the time.

Well...that's the theory. Big Grin

Also as PBs found out and told everyone. With the newer version of gbpvr you can actually set up one of your cards say the hvr-1250 twice (with associated epg source). Put one at the top of the list, and one at the bottom.

GBPVR is smart enough to realise that the card is the same and so this way it's used first for live tv and for recordings, and your pvr150 will be used when the other is busy.

Give that a go - but one thing I haven't verified is what happens if two recording are active (for your example) and you try to add a third....

all I had to do was change the order of the devices. Now I get the PVR150 live tv on my MVP and all the shows I have as planned recording are in HD.
Thanks much.

If you try to add a third recording, it will show up as a conflict. The last show you added for recording would be ignored. If you try to watch live TV while already recording on both tuners, you will be told that the devices are currently in use and it will let you select which of the two channels that are currently recording you would like to watch. At least that's what happened with me using PVRX2 1.2.9.
