Hello people.

Ive got this nice quad mode card and cant get hardware acceleration in powercinema. But I cant get GB-PVT to work.

This is what happens:
I set it up as best I can.
I can find the channels in config.
When I map ERP I can see the little window and the channels seem to play roughly. So it is going to a degree.

HOWEVER....when I go in to the program itself to watch live TV it just freezes for a few seconds and takes me back to the main menu!!

How odd!!!

Any help would be AWESOME!!

Hauppage HVR-4000
8600GT
Asus M2A-VM HDMI
2gig
AMD Dual Core 64x 2.1 x 2 4000+

I wonder if its the config options or something deeper that a noober like me would miss.

Please tell me a mega easy fix that lets it work and also lets my graphics card do all the acceleration!!!!

Reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub
when a terestial digital channel is not transmitting a signal ie after midnight or whenever the tower turns of the signal (just unplug your ariel). If you select the channel you get no signal displayed message on screen as you would expect, but then thats the end of pvrx2. I have to end the process with the task manager. here are my logs the last thing that happened in this log set was I stopped the recorder after closing the pvr app, the screen was black at that stage.
You have a nice piece of code here I am really impressed with the performance. It makes the other apps look as if they are written in basic.

I can't seem to get the transcoding to do anything either. even when I change the ouput to convert. I have set it to no conversion to make sure that I had a minimal system for the locking up issue.

Unfortunatly pvrx2 never drops out its almost as if a thread is blocking. I will check my pci bus configuration. I have moved the capture card to another slot and removed all the cards that I do not need.

However the old power cinema still seems to work but my pc is not fast enough to work with the poor implementation of software ;-) its only a 3 gig p4 hyperthreading 1.5 gig ram 256 agp asus 6600.
Help please

I'll look into it when I'm back in NZ in a couple of weeks.

GB-PVR uses ffmpeg for doing any transcoding jobs. Unfortunately ffmpeg doesnt understand the HE-AAC audio used on our NZ DVB-T transmissions, so its not possible to transcode this type of recording. Hopefully the ffmpeg guys will come up with a fix in the near future. (It can transcode the freeview DVB-S recordings though, or DVB-T/DVB-C/ATSC/Analog recordings in other countries etc)

i think your pc is a bit below spec to be able to do dvb-t well in NZ anyway
you need a 8xxx series video card or 2400 or above ati card

So I need to put another lnb on my sky sat dish if it is not a dual lnb it does not look like one in the mean time. If I can help code beta testing or debbuging let me know I have all the tools I think I should require.
