Hi all im new here so go easy on me.

I have installed GBPVR and have configured my HVR2200 to use both DVB-T tuners and there working fine for NZ FreeviewHD when I start the program, however I have no sound on any of the channels, I also have no sound on video clips or MP3s, all the options under Playback are set to system defaults except the h.264 decoder which is set to PowerDVD.

I also have DVBveiwer installed and I have sound on all FreeviewHD NZ channels with that program.

I can also play MP3s in other media programs and also my videos have sounds in all other media apps except GBPVR, anyone have any ideas on whats causeing this.

default is a bad setting as it uses anything you are best to choose something

also you need monogram aac audio decoder for the h264 stuff
you may also need a mpeg audio decoder ac3 filter, ffdshow ,power dvd

Thanks I got it working by installing Media Portal and copying there default settings for the sound and mpeg2 settings, so now its all working.

Once again thanks for replying.

strange should be able to play gbpvr just calls the default direct show filters
so i would say its trying to call the wrong one or a strange line up of filters that dont work
you could download gspot and graph edit to see whats going on

what players do you have and what decoders are in your drop down list in your audio decoders gbpvr config

if you cant be bothered you could try installing ffdshow the one with audio decoder that will force it to be the default one hopefully

also in your config.xml file you cant edit it with notepad and make sure it says <UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>true</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>
dont edit with word pad it will screw your config file

When it comes to .mp3 files, GB-PVR just asks directshow to pick an appropriate set of decoder, and to play the file, so I'm surprised it'd work in other apps but not GB-PVR. If you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs then I'll take a look.

You could also try downloading graphedit, then selecting the 'render media file' menu option, then selecting your mp3 file. Zip and attach a screenshot of the graph it generates. This will tell us what decoders its using by default.
