Another newcomer, so apologies in advance!!

I have a Nova T 500 card with standard XP system (SP3) and latest GB PVR. When I try mapping the channels in the config utility I do not get all those that I do using Win TV ver 6.0 ( which seems to scan and find all channels) AND I get a crash. "GB PVR configuration has encountered a problem etc" as well as .NET framework error. I had a quick look in the config.exe log and it seems that all the programmes are found for each MUX but the resultant tuning request does not relate?

Looks like a great application, if I could get it up and running which I know is most likely down to me!!

Have you tried the patch from the survival guide here;
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35529

I also had a similar issue on a new install if 'Auto-skip commercials' is checked in the Misc tab in config. Unchecking it got it working.

Thanks, the patch has stopped the crashing problem. However I am still not finding ALL the freeview channels as I do when running Win TV. I have also unchecked the auto skip option in the Misc tab as you suggested.

GBPVR scans will only find what is on air at the time you scan - so to get all the Freeview channels you need to scan once in the day and again in the evening. (And between 8-9am if you want to find Lottery Extra!)

If, however, you still are not getting all the channels, then you may have poor reception of one or more muxes (Freeview i made up from six muxes, or six separate transmissions...)
If this was the case though, you would not be getting any of the channels on that mux....

Here is a link to a site where you can find out about the Freeview muxes in your area - put in your postcode and make sure you put a check in 'I am in the aerial installation trade' as you get useful information:

Thanks for the great info, my postcode isn't looking good for signal strengths until 2011. Saying that I get most of the channels now, may need to do the double scan as you suggest to pickup the other channels. I had a new aerial installed on Monday and I'm glad I paid the extra tenner to get the upgraded aerial.

watch out for the BSOD! if you get it, see the hauppauge forum thread "BSOD Driver_IRQL_less_than_or_equal - USBEHCI.SYS"

Go into the config and turn off the error checking which is a checkbox then rerun the scan.

I found when I set up my Nova 500. I didn't get all the channels, so I 'disabled' the error checking and the missing channels poped up fine.

Give that a whirl and let us know !

Sorry to be a noob, how do you turn off error checking?

Thanks
