I'm looking to move to HD with DVB-T. I think, but am not sure, that HD TV has to be recorded as a TS file as the other formats can't hold it, or require re-coding on the fly. I'm not sure of the reason.
The big problem helping myself is that words like 'hd' and 'ts' are too short for the search engine and are excluded from the search. I understand that you don't want it searching words like 'to' and 'of', but can the search engine be told what 2 letter words should be included?
I'd possibly be able to help myself if 'hd' and 'ts' were included in my searches.

Thanks

Andrew

'hd' and 'ts' probably wouldnt give you much info of use since most of threads would be about the HD systems they use overseas which are different to NZ.

To answer your question though, yes - our NZ high definition H.264 channels are always recorded to .ts files. The north amercian system, which is older, and more often discussed on the forums, uses MPEG-2 channels for HD, which can be recording into either .ts/.dvr-ms/.mpg files.

Since sub turned letting google index the forums back on, I have been using google to search because, for me, the results are better (and you can search for short words) like:-
