Hauppauge Remote doesn’t work when coming out of Hibernation

Hi all, sorry I’m all rather new to all of this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m having issues with my Hauppauge remote when windows XP comes out of hibernation. I’ve had a look through the forums but I can’t seem to find anything to help me with this problem. Basically when the system goes to hibernation GB-PVR is open and the remote is working fine, but when it wakes up again the only way to get the remote to work is to restart IR. As I don’t want to use a keyboard it sort of defeats the purpose. The cards I’m using are 2 HVR-4000’s so it has got the IR plug at the back of the card and I have both IR receivers plugged in.

Why do you have both recievers plugged in, I thought this caused issues and you only needed one plugged into the second card.

You could use some of the batch files that are around to restart the IR service automatically maybe

So yeah you were right with only needing 1 IR receiver plugged in I found out the other one wasn’t doing anything anyway. I attempted to write a batch file after reading all about it on the net and I got it to run winmine.exe without problem. However when I put Ir.exe into the batch it came up with a generic “Windows cannot find Ir.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly etc...”. and I’m 100% sure I put in the right location. Oh some days I just LOVE windows *sigh*

sometimes windows is funny about finding files in batch files, post up the text in your file and I am sure one of the gurus will be able to find the issue

I seemed to have solved the issue but it’s still got me a bit stumped. So after the batch files didn’t work out as well as I hoped I went out and bought a wireless keyboard with programmable buttons so that when I come out of hibernation I can just use a short cut to restart the IR software which works perfectly. But here is the strange thing, I also own a Logitech harmony remote so I loaded the Hauppauge settings to the remote and now when I come out of hibernation it works first time without needing to run the Shortcut!? I really don’t understand why it does this as nothing else has changed except for adding the keyboard and the original remote wouldn’t know that the PC has gone to hibernation. Oh well yet again windows and/or the remote is screwing with my head, thanks for your help though it’s much appreciated.
