Hi there,

I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but here goes!

I have a HVR-3000 set up with GB-PVR (PVRX2). I'm using the drivers that came with WinTV 4.6b
Rest of my system is WnXP SP3, P4 2.53, Geforce 6200 with 256mb and soundblaster 'live!' soundcard.

Anyway, Sometimes (quite often, maybe 1 in 3) the card crashes when I switch from 1 dvb-s channel to another. Even if I go via the TV guide. When this hapens, GB-PVR has to close down and after I get the 'no signal' display. At the moment, I'm having to reboot the machine to 'reset' the card.

Something similar also happens in WinTV so I guess it's a card/driver/conflict type problem.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Searching the Hauppauge forums, I came across this patch

http://www.hauppauge.de/software/patches/ntfix2.exe
on this thread :
http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=14983

The patch is in German but seems to have done the job!

Switch to a satelite channel. Start watching. 5 seconds later - boom! PVRX2 has crashed, signal is gone!

I wonder if it is a lnb skew, or dish alignment issue, or maybe even cable.

The frist step I would do is uninstall and use the hauppauge uninstall tool to remove all hauppauge drivers, hcwclear i think it is called and reinstall. if it is still happening in both wintv and gbpvr then I would assume it is either the card is faulty or the signal is the issue.

you could try with dvbdream to see if it occurs there as well.
