Sorry for posting this question if the solution/question was already posted before. I tried searching dvbn and also gbpvr forums, but found no such questions. If it is already been posted please redirect me to the post (link).

Ok now on to the question/problem:

i've installed the lastest MDAPI (2.2) along with GBPVR. But it seems MDAPI doesn't want to work with the "front end"/"PVRX2". I say "PVRX2" because it WILL work with the GBPVR config/scan.

After i've install gbpvr (checked MD support in misc2) and then MDAPI (also the fix) and go into the config to do a channel "scan" (even though it's already scanned), I will get the MDAPI icon in the system tray and see that emunation is runing just fine. I can even get video and audio in the channel scan preview window. However when i close the config window, MDAPI icon disappers. I start PVRX2 and go to a channel and the MDAPI icon never starts.

It seems MDAPI wants to work with the gbpvr channel scan preview window but not the actual gbpvr window.

Please let me know whats going on and how to fix this. I have tried different versions of MDAPI and had no luck. i've used MDAPI before (with MediaPorta) but here is the file structure i was using:
\Denvz\GBPVR\mdapifilter.ax
\Devnz\GBPVR\FFDecsa.dll
\Devnz\GBPVR\pthreadVC2.dll (Emunation)
\Devnz\GBPVR\MDPlugins\Emunation.dll (plus other emunation files)
\Devnz\GBPVR\MDPlugins\Nagra\*.bin

i've also registered mdapifilter.ax, but still no go.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You for the help and any input in advance!

Can you reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log?

Are you on Vista?

I've tried this with Windows XP Pro. I had DVBDream installed on that so i was able to get the latest keys from that. Currently i installed Windows MCE 2005, and it's showing the same problem.

I attached two zip files:
Config.log-WithMDAPI - I copied Config.exe.log and Config.exe-native.log while i was in the config window -> Capture Source -> Edit -> Digital Channel Mapping. In this window MDAPI works as well as emunation.

Config.log-NoMDAPI - I copied the same 2 log files while in PVRX2 and trying to tune to a channel. This does not run MDAPI.

Sorry, I'll need the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log to see what is happening in PVRX2.

Can you enable live preview mode, then try again? If it still doesnt work, then zip and attach those logs again.

Its usually on by default at install. It would probably have worked with it off, but you'd need to have been using a mux other than the 'TS Mux'.

I didn't change that settings, by default it was off. Because MDAPI wasn't working i did change the mux to "TS MUX" to see if it help (it didnt).

I turned off live preview and change the mux to Microsoft DVR-MS and now MDAPI wont show up.

However if i turn on live preview with Microsoft DVR-MS, MDAPI works. So it seems "live preview" is needed for MDAPI?

No, but it wont work with the TS mux. Live preview switch off is effectively a recording. If you cant get it to work with live preview turned off, then you also wont get it working with a recording.
