Just getting GB-PVR running, for the most part everything is great, but when I hit the "menu" button on the Hauppauge 34 button remote that I got with my PVR-350 it locks up my machine everytime.

I am running a hefty P3 750mhz (en/de coding is done on card) XP Pro SP1, 256MB RAM, 120GB drive 8MB buffer, with a Netgear 108 Wireless card.

I also remote desktop into this machine so I have no monitor, keyboard, or mouse connected to it. Otherwise just a base install.

If it locks your machine up, then this is a sign you're having driver problems. This use to be very common with the PVR350 hardware decoder, but the recent drivers from Hauppauge have have made this much less common, so you should make sure you have them installed. If you dont have them, you can get them from http://www.shspvr.com/forum

I have now upgraded my memory to 512MB and reinstalled wintv2000 and the latest drivers that I could find for the
PVR-350.

But I have a new problem...

The menu button on my remote will let me switch between open programs on my machine. I can not see this on the TV screen, but on the computer. So I know that the IR is recieving a signal, but it is not doing what it shoudl be doing.

No other buttons work on the remote.

when you reinstalled the hauppauge software the irremote.ini was probably reset, ie the gbpvr remote configuration is no longer in the irremote.ini file, so just do a search on this forum for "irremote.ini" and you'll find a thread with all the information you need to add to the irremote.ini file to get it to work (the irremote.ini file is found in C:\windows\irremote.ini, theres one thread that details the information really well). once you have reentered the information, reset the ir and away you go.

Reven,

I will try that, because I am still having issues with the remote. I went to the Hauppauge directory and had some short lived success by running runnig the IR restart utility @ start up, instead of the Auto Start for the IR remote.

Strangly it seemed to work pretty well, accept putting in channel numbers, I was only able to scroll, but everything else worked.

Reven,

That was it...
My issues were with irremote.ini, I used this link for the configuration.

http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...rremoteini

I removed gb-pvr, removed the installation directory, and then reinstalled GB-PVR & IR.exe, which when I was done I the remote woudl still not work, until I applied the above fix to the IRRemote.ini file. I probably could have saved some time.

in the next version sub added a button to the config application to add the settings to the irremote.ini file incase they were deleted, i wonder if he tested to make sure they werent there already, otherwise might have some strange effects...hmm.
