Sky UK EPG from Sat stream

Now that mythtv, mediaportal and VDR have this, it would be a great feature for gb-pvr...

The ability to extract the EPG data from the sat stream for sky in the uk.

I dont know how they did it, but they have, in medaportal, a modified tswriter file, and a skyuk.dict file, and it extracts the epg data sent from a 'radio' channel that carries the info.

Does anyone that codes the epg handling know how they could implement such a feature - would be so good not to rely on xmltv anymore!

It perhaps the only thing that is holding me back from from BBC HD. And the lack of a Pci-x DVB-t and DVB-s2 combined tuner

Is there any update to this? This has been possible for a longtime now with mediaportal and would be great to see in gbpvr

I do hope to add support for it one day. I havnt done anything about it yet though.

If these test signals had been visible from my DVB-S setup, I'm sure I would have done something about it by now.

Same goes for FreeSAT in the UK as there's many of us who would like an easy way to update the EPG for our HD channels withould going to importing xml files. (i.e. something similar to the DVB-T setting )

Hi Sub... I'll happily upload a FullTS from the relevant Freesat EPG transponder if it will help.... (Not Sky for two reasons... way too much data for all encrypted channels I think no-one needs, and also that ITV HD would be missing!)
