mediagate mce remote

I got everything working with my happauge pvr 1600 my geforce 5500x 2 500 gig sata hard drives 2 gbs ram etc etc...now all I have left is the remote. I have the mediagate mce remote. Il post a pic later. When I plug in the bean bag windows xp can't find the driver. I tried installing HIP but to no avail. Anyone know what to do?

this is the picture of the remote. It is a mediagate HA-IR01SV.
I dont know what to do? my next question would be what is the next best remote that is:
1. Cheap
2. Easy to set up

when you plug it in does it pop up saying found new device looking fore drivers

yes but windows cant find the drivers and i cant find them on the internet to install them manually. I did notice something though. I have a mac laptop and when i plugged the usb IR receiver into it there was an LED light that came on that doesnt come on when its plugged into my desktop

i have read in the past that some remotes only work on vista

you tried the hip alternate mce drive im guessing ?

i played around with it a little bit today but i thought since i cant even get the driver i might be screwed. My next question then is what remote is cheap and easy to set up for windows xp? becauses my mouse and keyboard really arent cutting it. haha

the microsoft mce remotes are the best if you ask me
they just work

seems strange that they dont make drivers for both pretty much sucks if you ask me

which service pack are you running, if its detected as a normal mce remote installing sp2 or higher will allow it to install... below that it wont automatically install.

This is because it is vista only.
You need to edit the eHome drivers .inf file to include your IR receiver.

This will make it work, but you will need to use some kind of mapping software (HIP or IR Suite) to map the buttons yourself.

I had to do the same thing to get my vista-only mediagate remote working in xp, but it works perfectly now.
