Unable to watch HD-PVR recordings

Recordings from my HD-PVR lock up PVRx2 (or in rare cases I just get audio with no video). I can watch LiveTV fine (most of the time) off the HD-PVR. Recordings and LiveTV off my QAM tuners have no problems.

Short of getting you a log from one of the rare times that I get just audio what else can I try?

I am sure this has something to do with the ArcSoft video decoder. After reloading 1.3.7, I am consistently getting no video (just audio) when playing recordings from my HD-PVR. LiveTV from the HD-PVR works just fine. I have looked through the logs and don't see any errors. Is it possible that when playing back a recording the video decoder is not being loaded? What else could it be.

Yes, that's how I have been watching the recordings (well using MPC actually, but VLC plays em fine too).

Can you try playing a recording, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log files?

Some people have been reporting problems with the Arcsoft video decoder. I dont suppose you have the Cyberlink H264 decoder you can try?

Is there an easy way to define the MPC-HC video decoder as the default? I doesn't show up in the drop down list.

Sorry, I dont think it works with that decoder.

H.264 are not as interchangeable as MPEG2 decoder. Instead, each decoder pretty much needs new code to add support or it.

The cyberlink codec works (for both recordings and LiveTV), but it is NOWHERE near as good as the MPC-HC codec. I get around 50% cpu w/ the cyberlink and <10% with the MPC-HC codec. On really high end active movies it looks like the Cyberlink codec is dropping frames, something I don't have an issue with the MPC-HC codec.

Sub, I am begging you, please add the MPC-HC H264 codec to the supported codec options.
