Did a clean install of gbpvr with a new HVR-2250 card. All seamed well and added comskip & comclean. Live viewing looks fine, however, when I try to playback a recorded show all I see is a blue screen. Any thoughts would be appreciated

I see this too.

I have two of the 2250 cards in my machine. One of the cards turned out to be bad, but even after replacing one, I found it still records blue after a reboot.
Like one of the first automated recordings does this everytime.
After I restart that recording, I don't see it again, till another reboot.
Nothing in the logs, and you will find the recording goes away, or is too small.

Look in your buffer folder while watching a QAM LiveTV channel - is the file format .ts? If not, it's not recording in the proper format. I had this issue and it cleared up after (one of my many) reinstalls. Mine was recording in .mpg format when watching a QAM channel!

Try the beta pre-release drivers from here to see if it fixes it up -Do not install using the setup program in thefile. Extract thefiles, run hwclear.exe, reboot, then add the drivers manually by navigating to the drivers. Suggest a reboot afterward just to make sure.

Prior to your kind suggestion, I tried a few other thing and got it to playback correctly. I will however, install your attached drivers. Thank you.

What did you do to fix it? I've had problems with those drivers trying to map digital channels - will lock up quite regularly, causing you to have to do a scan all over again (for some reason, it can't just read the last scan it made and allow you to go from there - there might be a registry setting that says it finished the scan or not)

What I did was to remove comskip & comclean. I did this because after I installed the gbpvr programme. I did a short test and it did playback with a momentary blue screen. After I removed both programs I reinstalled comskip however, instead of unzipping all the items in the zip file I only loaded the three items that are listed in the gbpvr comskip wiki. I then tested it with a recording and playback was perfect. I then added comclean and that also now works great. Unfortunately there can be so many minor things that can cause problems it's often hard to find them. In my case I got lucky and found it quickly.

I've seen some blue screen on my 2250, but only on Analog cable. QAM has been good, but I'm still disappointed at some occasion tearing of the picture. I'm still running the production 4.7 drivers. Not sure I see the correlation to comskip.

What are you using for your BDA multiplexer? I've tried ATI, Cyberlink, and Microsoft. I think the picture looked better using an HVR-1600.

I read on some sage TV forums that some were having luck with the drivers at:

ftp://www.hauppauge.com/support/HVR2250/

I'm having to RMA some memory chips on my HTPC so I'm a little overwhelmed with bluescreens right now to try anything new...
