I've been running GB-PVRv 1.3.7 for a few months with no problems on a DELL GX240 P4 1.7GHz. Recently I decided to switch from my local cable company to Dish Network. I bought a receiver (DP301) and hooked up the IR blaster that came with the Hauppauge 1600 card i had been using. While using COX cable as my source I didn't need the blaster because I didn't have a STB. I used the blaster configuration tool and found that code 431 worked and finished the install. The blaster works flawlessly to change channels on the STB but I run into a problem when I record shows. The blaster somehow fails to communicate all the channel numbers to the STB and I end up recording the wrong channel. I've tried tweaking the tuning delay and send time settings in the blaster config but had no luck solving the problem. I think the problem may be that the STB needs to be sent a wake up signal from the blaster so it then can receive the channel numbers. The problem is that the code set does not have this option and I can't find one for this STB that does have a "power on" option. Does anyone know of a code set that has the "power on" option? Or is there someway to blast a command to the STB to prep it for the channel blasts?

I just figured out the problem. It has to do with the Dish Network standby function. It needs to be turned off. If the STB goes into stanby the "select" button must be pressed on the STB remote in order to wake it up before it can receive instructions to change channels. There's an extensive discussion about this here: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/243193.aspx. To overcome this the sleep function in the Dish STB must be disabled and a dummy recording must be set up in the PVR. One way to aviod the dummy recording would be to send an "enter" command to the STB first. Does anyone know if the codes for the Hauppauge blaster can be edited so that I can send the "enter" command before blasting the channels commands?

The fix mentioned above didn't work. Anyone know how to send an enter command with the Hauppauge blaster.
