I am running GB-PVR on a headless PC. I have GB-PVR installed on my laptop and I can connect to the headless PC and view the TV Guide and the list of pending recordings. However, I cannot select a program in the TV-Guide and schedule it for recording. I can display the menu and click Quick Record but the program is not scheduled on the headless PC. Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

I have also tried using Remote Desktop to run PVRX2 on the headless PC but that results in the error "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render."

If I connect to the headless PC using UltraVNC and start PVRX2 I get an empty window. If anyone has a working solution for using GB-PVR on a headless PC please let me know. Thanks

Check that you have read AND write permissions on the devnz\gbpvr folder that the client pc maps to. (I assume you have gbpvr installed on the laptop in client mode.)

Otherwise reproduce the problem and upload the logs from the client pc when trying to schedule a recording.

I run headless GB-PVR machines too - it's worth doing some work to fix your problem.

You might also want to look at EWA though - I use it to schedule about 95% of my recordings - it's got a great autosearch/autorecord function.

I have the laptop configured to act as a client using streaming. I have also tried file sharing with the same result I am an administrator on both machines and have full control of the devnz\gbpvr folder. Both are running XP Pro SP3.

The logs are attached

make sure you have the same version on baoth machines and if you have multirecord selected on misc tab on the headless machine also make sure you have it selected on the client machine
other than that make sure all folders are shared an the correct directories are checked on the clienet

Where can I find information about EWA? EWA in Google returns many hits, none of which have to do with video recording. Thanks.

I have 1.3.7 on both machines. I have administrator rights on both machines. I cannot find a "multirecord" setting on either the Misc or Misc2 pages of the config program but I do have exactly the same options set on both pages on both machines. Still no luck. Sad

EWA is the enhanced web admin for gbpvr.

go to http://{server IP}:7647/gbpvr/

(making sure the web interface button is clicked in the misc or misc 2 screen and setting a user / password. )

The multi-record option is on the upper left of misc or misc 2 (not at my machine) but it's a check box right below where you select the BDA mux filter.

Sorry, EWA is Enhanced Web Admin - it's installed with GB-PVR.

You can find the whole story here.
