Non-favourites showing in TV Guide

I thought that the Favourites column on the Channels tab in Config dictated whether a channel showed in the TV Guide or not.

It seems that if a channel is enabled for a capture source it shows in the TV Guide even if the Favourites field is unchecked on the Channels tab. Is this expected behaviour?

I've also wondered what the purpose of the FAVORITES check box is. I haven't been able to see any effect it has.

From memory it is only used when pressing the ch+/- buttons in live tv, where non-favourites are skipped. You can still type the channel number to go directly to that channel though.

OK thanks. Not sure why I assumed it was used to hide channels from the TV Guide. I know this isn't the Wishlist forum but how about a 'hide' option for channels to keep them out of the TV Guide but leaving them enabled?

Here's a scenario - I have a couple of music channels which I might want available to watch or instant record but I don't care about the EPG data. Having the channels enabled on the relevant cap. sources, selected as Favourites but hidden from the TV Guide, means the guide is less cluttered but I can still come across the channels when channel surfing. Just a thought.
