Over the weekend I started evaluating software PVR options for an HTPC build and as such I am a first time gb-pvr user. I had gb-pvr 1.3.7 up and running fine on a winXP SP3 but ran into a problem with same version of gb-pvr on Windows Vista + SP1. I used the same hauppauge pvr150 capture card in both cases.

First up I installed gb-pvr 1.3.7 on an old unused desktop box (1GHz PIII with 1GB RAM) running WinXP SP3. After configuring an EPG for the PVR150 using the XMLTV plugin I was able to point it at downloaded copies of the EPG xml files downloaded from http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/ and the gb-pvr TV Guide functioned as expected/

Later I moved the PVR150 to a newer desktop box running Vista Ultimate x86 with SP1. After installing the same version of gb-pvr (1.3.7) and with pretty much the same gb-pvr configuration (as far as what I entered via the config UI) selecting TV Guide failed to render and the following 'divide by zero' exception was logged in the PVRX2.exe.log

I will attach a zipped copy of the logs and config.xml file. Can anyone help with this?

I think I have resolved this issue for my purposes (without fully understanding the root cause).

First up I spotted the the v1.3.11 release announcement so downloaded and installed that over the top of 1.3.7. Ran up GB-PVR and this time selecting TV Guide behaved differently visually. In 1.3.7, UI locked up for several minutes before falling back to Main Menu. Checked the logs and this time it looked like it had proceeded past the point where the System.DivideByZeroException was logged. This time a backend error: 'no channels have been set up' was logged. NOTE: this isn't reported back through the UI.

The error was puzzling (to me) for a couple of reasons
a) I had configured an analogue source (S-Video, external tuner) and the Map Digital channels to EPG chanels was diabled.
b) I hadn't explicitly set up any channel mappings in the XP install and the TV Guide came up no problems

Anyhow, I had used the default installation directory under %ProgramFiles% and having observed gb-pvr was maintaining data and config in sub-directories of that I wondered if it was being affected by the Vists 'Program Files' folder protection.

Following that hunch I de-installed gb-pvr and reinstalled to a different directory. Now the TV Guide come up fine as it did in Windows XP.
