With the "don't record duplicates" option checked, how long does gb-pvr remember past shows? I originally thought (assumed?) that it would only know about those shows currently recorded, but lately I've discovered it not scheduling some shows that aren't currently on the drive. I don't doubt they did record at some point in the past, so I'm guessing then that gb-pvr is remembering that the show was recorded before even though it's cycled off the drive already.

I just asked a similar question got this for a reply.

Also it seems you must use Schedules Direct for it to detect them correctly in the first place.

sub Wrote:The history that is kept defaults to the relatively short period of 40 days, and is primarily designed to minimize the changes of re-recording the same episode that might rerun more that ones a week etc. You can run 'pvrx2.exe -remotehistory' if you need it to start recording re-runs again.

The amount of days can be tweaked in the <RetainedPreviousEpisodeDays> setting in config.xml.

If the series you're interested in watched a long time ago, and was deleted more than 40 days ago, then you dont need to do anything.

Ah, thanks, I should have searched first. 40 days is fine, now that I know what it is and how to change it. My TiVo used the same logic, but was set to 30 days (no doubt there was a hack to floating around to change it)

any idea if sub meant '-removehistory' instead of 'remotehistory'? remove certainly makes more sense.

Yes, I meant '-removehistory'.
