I am new to GBPVR.  I recently bought a Hauppauge 150 and installed it.  I have WinTV 2000 working properly.  IR receiver and blaster are working.  I also have a 200 IR blaster for GBPVR which works properly.
But I am having a few problems with GBPVR.
1) When viewing with GBPVR, the windows box stays visible, as does the windows taskbar at the bottom of the screen.  I see the extra stuff at the top of the image that should go away with overscan.
2) When watching live TV, I get a lot of audio skipping, and even, what I would call gobacks, where the audio and video skip back in time repeating what was just said and shown.  Amazingly, the video and audio remain in sync!
3) When watching an already stored video, if I press FF or RW I can't get the video to go back into play mode.  If I do it on the screen, all that shows up in the display is a pause button!
(From searching the posts, this may be a known defect and I should use skipping feature, but I thought I would mention the fact that the pause shows up on the screen).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Eugene

My system is suped up Compaq EN 866 SFF as follows:
PIII 866 (yes, its not that modern, but its dedicated to PVR. and works fine with Hauppauge software as mentioned)
256 MB Ram
40 GB HD 7200 ATA 100
160 GB HD 7200 ATA 100
Hauppauge 150 for capture
ATI AIW Pro 8 MB PCI for video output to TV (not for capture)
IL 200 blaster

I'm guessing you just clicked the maximize window button in the top right? You should uncheck the ' Show in window mode' option in the config. This will start in true full screen mode.

You may need to try a different MPEG2 decoder, or a faster machine.

Sub,
Thanks for your help, and you wonderful software.
I unchecked the "Show in window mode" option, and now I get full screen.
I also installed PowerDVD, and selecting it as the video renderer seemed to get rid of the stuttering.
I still have a couple of other issues. I can't seem to watch live TV at the same time I'm recording a show. I also don't know how to adjust the image (brightness, contrast, color, etc.) The RW button doesn't seem to work, instead it is still some type of FF) (Did I see a post about changing the button definitions?)
Is it true that after each channel change the pause buffer gets reset?

If you've only got one tuner, then that sounds correct to me.

yes

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ] I also don't know how to adjust the image (brightness, contrast, color, etc.)
Its not really intended that the user edit these settings, but if you absolutely have to, you can edit the settings in direct.ini

Sub, thanks for you prompt answers.

I'm not sure my question was clear about the recording and live TV. What I really meant to ask was, if I am recording, can I watch what is recording while it is in progress. If so, how do I do it. Going to live TV doesn't work. Also, can I RW/FF within the recording as it goes.

As for adjusting the brightness, etc., there are settings on the graphics card that I can adjust, which do change the wa the image looks. Are there settings for the playback only that adjust brightness etc.? Does the direct.ini adjustments affect the recording or just the display? (Seems to me that where you make the changes the 2 might be independent.)

I did manage to make last night 1 timed recording, and I recorded something I was watching by pressing record for about 15 minutes, so I am making some progress. However, 2 other timed recordings which were scheduled after the 1st did not take place, and now there are 2 scheduled recordings listed that I can't get rid of. Please let me know how to delete them.

I wanted to add to my previous post that the 2 recordings that were made were after the time scheduled for the update of the guide database, while the successful one was before. If that makes any difference I don't know.
